Not up to 24 hours after President Buhari disclosed that his government is in talks with the Niger Delta Avengers to stem the tide of attacks on oil installations in the region, notable militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, released a statement on their web portal saying they are not aware of such talks. Read below  their statement...

"Our attention has been drawn to media report that the President is in touch with Niger Delta agitators including the Niger Delta Avengers but the truth is that we are not aware of any peace talk. If there is any such peace talk, it means the President is talking to their mercenaries set to disturb the genuine struggle of the agitators. President Buhari led government is not sincere to the Nigeria people and their foreign allies. If we are to engage in any peace talk we made it clear that the international community must be part of it. The President know our demands. So they should stop deceiving the international oil companies, the general public and the international community.
Brig.Gen Mudoch Agbinibo Spokesperson

Mr. President Sir,

Once again I am urged to voice out my bewilderment at the stumbling and wobbly kind of governance we have had since you came on board.
I wonder what you are doing right now.
I wonder if our tears, pains and hopelessness affect you in anyway.
I wonder if you are the one in charge or some other people.
You have tasted leadership before and you know what it entails. I understand that. However, then and now are two different scenarios, two separate dispensations.
We know you.
We know about your war against indiscipline.
We hear about your no-nonsense stand against corruption.
We have read so much about our stolen monies which you have managed to recover. Well done sha.
Meanwhile, the nagging questions that leave me sleepless most nights remain unanswered…
How much money have you collected from the looters so far?
To what use have the monies been put?

From where I stand, it seems you’re the only one in your cabinet fighting corruption while your praise singers are busy washing you all over town trying to convince us that you’re a good man.
I, CharlyBoy, know that you are a “good” man: someone who loves the country, a patriot with a high sense of morals perhaps. But na that one we go chop? Is that all that is needed to fix the rot of over 40yrs.?
I don’t think so!

To a great degree, Nigeria has become a terribly dysfunctional society.
I didn’t vote in the last elections because I just tire with the kalokalo leadership so far. Even when a lot of people wanted change, I wondered what manner of change could come when in our history we never really struggled for anything.

Before you sat on that chair, I proclaimed that Nigeria would only survive under a benevolent dictator; one with lots of selfless love for the country and is willing to lay down his life, one who would deal mercilessly with all those who have ruined our land.
A lot of people thought I was talking about you.

From Boko Haram to Niger Delta Avengers. MASSOB, OPC, to Biafran Avengers, name it, the list is endless.
Mr President Sir, you ought to, as a matter of urgency, review your approach to handling issues because, sometimes diplomacy works better. Excessive force will only breed more discontentment. Take it from me.

Your mark of fair play must cut across board, you must not leave room for us to second-guess your intentions biko, and you must at all times convey clarity of purpose.
It is not possible (or I should say it is unbelievable) that you can’t see that we are swimming in the river of chaos.
It is funny because, those who feel insulated and protected by the State will discover that they are mere sitting ducks!
Just because say boys dey vex!

Putting Nigeria together will take a lot more than childish, nonsensical propaganda.
It will take more than prayers, more than just being a good guy.
Being good is important but not as important as being a no-nonsense ass-kicker; person wey no send, because many things don scatter.
I don’t care if you’re trying to convert all of us to Islam, I don’t care if everyone in your cabinet is your in-law, brother, sister, tribesman, cook, steward or even your MaiGuard.

On behalf of all the frustrated youths in this country, all we need is a leader who can fix things, not the one that comes with excuses.
A leader who is not afraid to admit that he has no clue to certain matters but willing to learn spot on and hands on.

A leader who can’t be comfortable with praise singers.
A leader who is troubled by the cry of poverty-ridden Nigerians.
A leader who can raise our hope once again in our battered country.
A leader who can make us start believing in our Nigeria again.

Oga Presido, do sometin o, boys are not smiling!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jay Z says "spiritual" is a work in progress that he never quite had the time to finish, but the track was released anyway late on Thursday night for good reason. The song, which marks the first new single the famed rapper has released in years, discusses what it's like to be a black person in America right now. It's particularly poignant in light of the recent killings of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile and, sadly, many more. The release also comes on the same evening as the horrific shooting of 11 police officers who took sniper fire while guarding a Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas, TX

Tennis Champion Serena Williams has finally clinched a record 22nd grand slam singles title in the Wimbledon final today. The world number one is now tied with Steffi Graf at the top of the open era women's champions list and just two short of Margaret Court's all-time record of 24 titles. U.S president Barack Obama wished his first daughter Malia a happy 18th birthday on Monday, 4th of July, the same day America celebrated its independence.
Obama, flanked by rapper Kendrick Lamar, belted out a croaky version of happy birthday song to his daughter, while the crowd at the annual Fourth of July party at the White House cheered on.
Malia, who will begin her studies at Harvard in 2017 after graduating from high school in June, embraced Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monae on stage after her father sang Happy Birthday to her.

'Because it's a job of fathers to embarrass their daughters, I've got one last job,' Obama joked as the audience began to applaud. 'It just so happens we celebrate our country's birthday on the same day as my oldest daughter's birthday, so just a quick Happy Birthday for Malia,' Obama added before breaking into song. Aisha Umar was forced to flee her hometown after a man, whose children were killed by Boko Haram, threatened to murder her 2-year-old son, a child she had after she was repeatedly raped by the terrorists.

The 28-year-old, who was kidnapped by Boko Haram, held for almost a year in the town of Gwoza, and raped by several militants, could have been forgiven for believing her ordeal was over when she escaped and returned to her hometown last year. But the mother-of-four was forced to flee her home in the town of Gwoza a fortnight ago when a man threatened to murder her two-year-old boy Mohammed, the son of a Boko Haram fighter.

"He told me that if I didn’t take the child away, he would buy petrol and set the boy on fire until he burned to ashes," Umar told the Thomson Reuters Foundation by phone from Madagali, 22 km (14 miles) away, where she now lives with her brother.
The man, who saw Boko Haram kill three of his children, was one of many people in Gwoza who made it clear to Umar that her son was not welcome in the community since their return home.
"People didn’t want to play with the child … they called him Boko Haram child,” Umar said, adding that she received the most abuse from those who had lost relatives to Boko Haram.
Women who are former Boko Haram captives, and their children born out of rape, face mistrust and persecution when they return home, according to a report by peacebuilding group International Alert and the U.N. children’s agency UNICEF

Many people fear those held by the Islamist militant group have been radicalised and may recruit others when they return home, said the report, which was published earlier this year. More than 2,000 women and girls have been abducted by Boko Haram since 2012, many of whom have been raped, trained to fight, or used as suicide bombers, according to the report.
"There is a belief that the blood of the father will always run in a child’s veins and therefore that these children will eventually turn on their families and communities,"said Rachel Harvey, chief of child protection for UNICEF in Nigeria.
Umar was kidnapped in August 2014 by Boko Haram militants who shot her husband in the head before taking her into Sambisa Forest, a vast colonial-era game reserve where the militants hide in secluded camps to avoid the Nigerian military.

She believes the militant to whom she was married is the father of her two-year-old son. He was named Mohammed Yusuf after Boko Haram’s founder, who died in police custody in 2009. When she returned home to Gwoza last year and learned that her three children from her murdered husband had been taken in by a neighbour, the family were overjoyed to be reunited.
"But people started telling them that their brother was a Boko Haram child,” she said, adding that the three children became increasingly reluctant to play with Mohammed. "My oldest daughter told me: ‘Mummy, please, take this child to his father and come back to us’."
Despite moving to Madagali in Adamawa state, Umar is facing fresh stigma as people become aware of her son’s heritage. Her relatives do not want to touch Mohammed while people point at her in public and keep their distance, Umar said.

Recalling how she secretly plotted her escape from Sambisa with dozens of other women, Umar talks of how she carefully strapped her toddler to her back as she fled to keep him safe. Yet the abuse she has suffered since escaping Boko Haram has pushed her to breaking point.
"If I had someone to take this child away from me, I would welcome the idea."

China’s Hanergy Holding Group (Hanergy) has unveiled four solar-powered electric concept cars, set for production within three years. Hanergy is a large clean-energy company and one of the largest thin-film solar cell manufacturers in the world. Hanergy is also the owner of U.S. based Alta Devices, which it bought in 2014.

Much of the technology used in the solar panels that cover the Hanergy cars is based on Alta Devices AnyLight, which was devised as a range-extending technology for electric vehicles.

Hanergy is planning to use this technology to build fully-solar powered cars in the future. The company says the current solar energy conversion rate of its high-end cells is 31.6%. This is expected to go up to 38% in 2020 and 42% in 2025, which would make a fully-solar powered car possible, according to the company.

The four Hanergy vehicles are basically standard electric cars with solar power functioning as an extra source to extend range, like the original Alta Devices concept. The vehicles store energy in lithium ion batteries and can be charged at any charging station.

However, Hanergy has added three crucial new inventions to the technology. Firstly, the vehicles are able to drive on solar power alone. The Hanergy Solar A has a combined range (battery + solar panel) of 350 kilometer and a solar-only range of 80 kilometer.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday called on Nigerians to rededicate themselves to the cause of a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria where citizens regardless of ethnic, religious, political or social status can flourish.

The Governor in his Eid-el-Fitri message said it is only by embracing peace, unity and fairness that Nigerians can put the country back on the path of growth and development, urging them to embrace the tenets of love, tolerance, forgiveness and brotherhood which characterized the period of the holy month. In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, the Governor said that the nation needs brotherly love and harmonious co-existence among her citizens above all other things as a means to overcome its numerous challenges.

While cautioning against acts that would divide rather than unite the country, Governor Ambode called on Nigerians to return to the values of peaceful co-existence and brotherly love.

He further said: “As we celebrate this auspicious occasion, therefore, let us renew our faith in our nation and implore the Almighty God to restore to us those values that place high premium on human life, love of neighbour and sharing even as we ventilate our faith in the unity of our dear country and the possibility of her taking her rightful place in the comity of nations”.

The Governor said, “In this all important crusade to rescue our dear country from socio-economic as well as political quagmire, let us all continue to demonstrate those sterling virtues of harmonious and peaceful co-existence as well as willingness to serve in this melting pot of cultures where the multi-ethnic and multi-religious nature of our country is turned into a source of strength”,

Governor Ambode also thanked Lagosians for their continued harmonious and peaceful co-existence in the midst of diverse ethnic origin and religion.

“With your demonstration of love for your neighbour and the willingness to serve, our State has continued to be a model of what patriotic Nigerians will want our dear country to be.

“When peace reigns in the land, we can achieve whatever it is that we want to achieve. Infrastructural development can only be carried out in an atmosphere of peace and respect for our political and ethnic differences,” he said.

Governor Ambode wished all Muslim brothers and sisters in the State a happy Eid-el-Fitri celebration, just as he enjoined Nigerians in other parts of the country to continue to be their brothers’ keepers.
