A solar eclipse will occur in Nigeria on Thursday, September 1, between the hours of 7:15am and 10:03am with slight variations in actual timing across the country, the National Space Research and Development Agency (NSRDA) said.
A press statement by the Head of Media and Corporate Communications, Dr Felix Ale, appealed to the general public not to panic or attach any spiritual interpretations to this event. He said the eclipse cannot be observed with naked eyes, as this could cause damage.

In the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, there will be a partial eclipse, with an obscurity of 60 per cent, and the first contact at about 7:17am, with maximum eclipse at 8:32am and end at 10:00am.
Lagos will experience its first contact with the eclipse at 7:15am, with a maximum eclipse occurring at 8:32am and ending at about 10:00am. The Agency has arranged a viewing centre tomorrow to enable members of the public, pupils and students from various schools to view the eclipse using specially designed viewing instruments provided by the space Agency.

The viewing centre which has been set up by the Agency will be open to the public on Thursday 1st September, 2016 from 6:45am for school pupils and students to observe the annular eclipse as part of its continuous programmes to expose Nigerians and students to matters concerning astronomical environment.

The report that Mark Zuckerberg is in Lagos, is no longer news, right? Yesterday, August 30, Nigerians on social media attacked CNN , after the international news media house tweeted that Mark Zuckerberg was in ‘Sub-Saharan Africa’ instead of stating Nigeria outright.

However, now that Mark Zuckerberg is in Lagos, Nigeria, what are the five places he must visit before he leaves Lagos?

1. Facebook Partner Workshop Developer Event
The workshop which holds today, Wednesday, is one of the major reasons Mark Zuckerberg is in Nigeria. Although attendance is free, the event is strictly by invitation, and the venue is likely CC HUB in Yaba, Lagos.
During the workshop, you’ll hear from Facebook Product, Partnerships, and Engineering teams, who will be providing exclusive, hands-on instruction via code-labs, tech-talks, and updates on the latest Facebook Platform products designed to help you build and grow a successful business.
2. Olumo Rock

Olumo Rock in Abeokuta, Ogun state
When Zuckerberg was in India, one of the places he visited was the Taj Mahal. What is the Nigerian equivalent? There are many, but Olumo Rock is filled with enough history to make a thoroughly enjoyable tourist stop for him.
About two hours away from Lagos, in the quiet city of Abeokuta, Ogun state, Mark Zuckerberg should definitely tear himself away from technology long enough to visit Olumo Rock.
3. Aso Rock

The Aso Rock is the equivalent of the White House
Mark Zuckerberg has met the Pope, Barack Obama, President Xi Jinping of China and a whole lot of other powerful leaders across the world.
So, definitely, he must visit the Aso Rock and meet the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari. Especially, as the online platform, Facebook, played a major role in getting President Buhari elected.
Mark Zuckerberg lands in Nigeria on August 30.
4. White House Buka Yaba

White House buka in Yaba, Lagos feeds a teeming population.
No, not the White House in the United States, the Whitehouse Restaurant at No 9, Chapel Street, Sabo Yaba, Lagos, which is quite close to the CC HUB. It is time Zuckerberg tastes and tells the world about the wonders and culinary delight of the White House amala with ewedu soup.
5. Orphanages

There are numerous orphanages littered around Lagos
There are a lot of orphanages in Lagos, around Surulere and Yaba, that Mark Zuckerberg should visit. The children there will definitely need some of the charity from the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative.
He has shown on several occasions that he is ever ready to give to a worthwhile cause, so who knows what he might give to the orphanages he decides to visit.
Meanwhile, are there any other places, you feel, he must visit?

Dozens of activists took part in a ‘die in’ in protest over the use of animal skin in clothing
A group of animal rights activists have staged a naked protest in Madrid, the capital of Spain, on Tuesday, August 30.

AnimaNaturalis members gathered to to denounce the torture of the live creatures, the use of animal skin and fur, as well as to express their concern ove the use of real animal fur under the guise of synthetic clothing.
One woman held up a sign reading ‘how many lives for a coat’ during the protest in Madrid
The protest was held as a reaction to the reports about American scientists detecting real dog and cat fur in coats allegedly made from synthetic materials.
Up to 30 female participants came to the centre of the city, stripped down to their udewear and laid on top of each other.

The women stripped down to their underwear and covered themselves in fake blood, pictured
Fellow activists then poured a fake blood over their semi-naked bodies, as if they had been butchered. Others were seen carrying various graphic placards calling to stop animal cruelty.

The group hope that the protest will force the Spanish government to tak more control over the origin of exported skins and labeling to make their used for clothing production.

They stress that  that the majority of the global fur trade is coming from Chinese republic, where regulations are extremely lax.

The company stated:

The impact of the external environment has been very harsh on our operational performance, hence management decision to suspend scheduled services operations indefinitely effective September 1, 2016, pending when the external opportunities and a robust sustainable and viable plan is in place for Aero Contractors to recommence its scheduled services.
The implication of the suspension of scheduled services operations extends to all staffs directly and indirectly involved in providing services as they are effectively to proceed on indefinite leave of absence during the period of non-services.

Penis dude
There have been several long standing myths about male reproductive organ which guys debate on. These are some of those myths.
Like your junk the way it is? Then ditch your Droid. Keeping your cell phone on you for the majority of the day may mess with your ability to maintain an erec*tion, according to new research presented at the recent World Meeting on S*xual Medicine.
Researchers studied 30 men—20 with erectile dysfunction, 10 without—to test whether there was a link between excessive cell usage and erec*tion issues. After screening the men, researchers found that guys with ED kept their cells on them twice as long as the men without any p*nis problems.
Obviously this is a very small study, but there are a lot of myths about the effects technology can have on your man*hood, and the researchers hope to inspire future investigations on the subject, says lead study author Rany Shamloul, M.D., a specialist in andrology and sexual medicine at Ottowa Hospital in Canada.
While we await the definitive answer on whether or not your BlackBerry kills your boner, here are four other p*nis myths we can positively put to rest.
1. The claim: Daily ejaculation hurts your swimmers.
According to a study that was up for review by the journal Fertility and Sterility, daily ejaculation may damage your sperm’s DNA makeup. But while masturbating every day will decrease the number of sperm in your ejaculate (and thereby “lighten your load”), it really shouldn’t concern you unless you’re trying to get your wife pregnant, says Men’s Healthurology expert Larry Lipshultz, M.D. Hear that, bachelors? No need to destroy your porn stash.
2. The claim: The average erec*tion is 8 inches.
Don’t measure up? Don’t worry. We aren’t sure who started the rumor, but 8 inches is most definitely not the standard. The average length of a p*nis is a much more manageable 5.5 to 6.2 inches long, according to a 2007 review published in the British Journal of Urology International. But to her, size hardly matters. Men are far more obsessed with their length and girth than women are. In fact, only 9 percent of the ladies we talked to said the size of the ship was most important for great s*x. Sixty-seven percent said technique and slow-building friction — “the motion in the ocean” — was most crucial for sexual satisfaction.
3. The claim: Peeing sitting down is better for your bladder.
You may have heard you’ll be able to empty your bladder more efficiently if you sit down to pee rather than stand—a claim that comes straight from the Taiwan Minister, of all people—but from where we’re standing, we’re pretty sure the urinal works just fine. “In fact, a lot of men report the opposite,” says Dr. Lipshultz. “When you sit to void, you’re creating a very acute angle in the urethra—so standing is actually much more effective.”
4. The claim: Your semen is low-carb.
Although there’s plenty of research investigating the health benefits of semen, telling your date that your stuff is low-carb is not going to fly. (Unless you’ve been dying to have drink thrown in your face.) “Semen is mostly fruit sugar [fructose] and enzymes—not low-carb,” says Marc Goldstein, M.D., a professor of reproductive medicine and urology at Cornell University’s Weill Medical College.

An Urhobo militant group known as the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Movement, NDGJM, has blown up the Ogor-Oteri major delivery line operated by the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company and Shorelines Petroleum in the state.

The group in a statement released and signed by its leader, “Gen” Aldo Agbalaja, said they carried out the attack on the oil facility at about 3am.
The group said they will also be launching “Operation Crocodile Tears” since the military had launched “Operation Crocodile Smile” to supposedly worsen the Niger Delta crisis. Read part of their statement below...

“Recent developments around our region, especially as it concerns the issue of justice and our inalienable right to protect our heritage, have proven us right all along. Now it has become clearer who is serious about getting justice for our people and who has been using the name of the region and the destinies of all our peoples to feather their nests, raising dusts merely to harass the Nigerian state and the oil multinationals into parting with money. Although some selfish machinery, merely put together to achieve some pecuniary ends, has been parading in the name of the peoples of the Niger Delta, the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate will not be derailed on its mission to getting justice for the people. When lines are blurred, justice is most likely to be miscarried. If there shall be a negotiation, it must be seen and indeed, must be in actual sense, be representing all the individual nations of the region equally. The drama that trailed the visit of some Ijaw royal fathers to the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, in Abuja recently is more reason why equity must be a factor in setting up a body that will dialogue on behalf of all the peoples of the Niger Delta.” “If the said leader could not respect the royal fathers of his ethnic nation, if he is lording his will over them, what chance do other nations have, which do not have adequate representation? That said, the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate will no longer sit quietly watching the endless harassment of our people in various parts of the region by the Nigerian military. We had once warned against the victimization and harassment of defenseless people of the region, especially in the creeks, but rather than heed, the Nigerian military has increased its presence and made life more difficult for our people. They are now killing our people on the basis of mere suspicion, this cannot continue. With the launch of their ‘Operation Crocodile Smile’, the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate is also serving a notice on the commencement of our ‘Operation Crocodile Tears.’ It shall from now on be an eye for an eye; for every military atrocity carried out in the creeks and hinterland of the Niger Delta, the Nigerian armed forces will have the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate to contend with. To this end, we are alerting all those working in the UQCC/UPS Erhomukokwarien in Ughelli, Eriemu Pigging Manifold in Agbarha, Otorogun Gas Plant, Olomoro Flow Station, Warri Refinery, Port Harcourt Refinery, Eleme, OB-OB and Obite gas plants in Omoku to evacuate because what is coming to those facilities are beyond what anybody has seen before. We do not want innocent blood being spilled, therefore, we advise all indigenes living in the vicinities of the facilities to relocate for the time being. The world should, however, note that the bloodbath that is about to commence in our already beaten, battered, squeezed and impoverished homeland, the Niger Delta. It is all the baby of the Nigerian government; they are the people, who are in one breath preaching resolution through dialogue and also breathing bullets and bombs on a troubled, but trusting people. “Hold the Nigerian President responsible for the genocide that his armed forces is about to unleash on our people,”the statement read
