Four dead, others injured as gas explosion rocks Imo
Four people were on Monday confirmed dead after a gas cylinder exploded at a filling station in Orji, Owerri North local government area of Imo State.

According to the police, several other customers who were buying fuel and other petroleum products were also seriously wounded in the explosion.


The state Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Enwerem, while confirming the incident, said investigations were ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the explosion.

He said: “We heard about the explosion in a popular petrol station around Orji and four people have been confirmed dead.

“Police had rescued the wounded persons and taken them to the hospital.”

Nominations for The Future Awards Africa (TFAA) has been released. The award is set to be the 12th edition of the prestigious award and it is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 9 December 2017.

The theme of the award is ‘Nigeria’s New Tribe’ and the award is organised to celebrate and accelerate innovation among young Nigerians aged 18 – 31, TFAA acknowledges inspiring young people making a difference through social enterprise, social good, and creativity. The Central Working Committee of the Awards selected five exceptional individuals for each of the 21 categories in contention this year.

The 23rd of November 2017 was bonkers in Lagos; as Africa’s premium band Alternate Sound rocked Hard Rock Cafe with a thrilling concert tagged “Alternate Sound Live”. The praised band headed by hit-producer GospelOnDeBeatz is known for performing alongside Yemi Alade, Patoranking, Banky W, Tiwa Savage to name a few but guest were not prepared for what the instrumentalists cooked up for the night.

Music lovers and fans flooded the venue to be entertained by the band and the surprise music artistes. Guests in attendance included DJ Xclusive, Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Altims, Big Mo, Sammy and other media personalities and they were not disappointed as the likes of Praiz, Terry Apala, Squeeze Tarela, LK Kuddy, Jeff Akoh, Okiemute, Isaac Geralds, Femi Leye, Fiokee, Chike, Chiny, Au Proamong others delivered a mind-blowing performances of their songs with a rich twist from Alternate Sound. Celebrated dancers like Kaffy and GGB Dance Crew also danced for their life on stage while host of the night Spanky Manolo did his job.

Burna Boy Declared Wanted By The Police, Over Robbery Attack On Mr 2kay
Singer, Burna Boy has been flagged as a suspect in the robbery case filed by fellow singer, Mr 2kay. The commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Edgal Imohimi declared Burna Boy wanted and publicly called on him to report to the Police Station for questioning in connection with the robbery attack on fellow singer, Mr 2kay at Eko Hotel & Suites on October 22nd, 2017.

According to the Police commissioner, “4 armed robbers carried out the attack and detectives were able to arrest one of their girlfriends who is identified as ‘Matejero’ which led to the capture of the others. During interrogation, the robbers confessed that they were hired by Burna Boy through his manager, Joel Kantiock who was arrested in Zaria, Kaduna State”.

The CP went on to say that “they confessed to receiving a part payment of 50,000 naira before the job and another 50,000 was paid to the robbers directly by Burna Boy when the job was done. At the moment, efforts to apprehend Burna Boy is proving futile but we count on him to make himself available for questioning immediately”.

Wizkid has confirmed the news of a child with his US manager, Jada Pollock, he tweeted the name of the child some minutes ago as “Zion Ayo Balogun” with feeding bottles and a #Godsblessing”

According to reports, she gave birth weeks ago, in London, but has been keeping it under wraps. The duo are said to have been having a romantic affair for over a year now.
