The University of Lagos, UNILAG, has banned students from wearing miniskirts, tight-fitting clothes and other body revealing clothes.
This was contained in a circular, tagged, “Dress Code” released by the university management on Tuesday.
Such clothes as the bust, chest, belly, upper arms and the buttocks are now banned. Others include transparent clothing, spaghetti tops, tubes and. Skirts and dresses with slits above the knees fall in this category.”

The circular observed that some male and female students of the University of Lagos dress indecently on campus, even to lectures. Also, “Outfits such as T-shirts, skirts and jeans, which carry obscene and subliminal messages, trousers such as hip-riders and low waist jeans” are equally prohibited.

All is set for the trial of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and four others in London for alleged corrupt practices.
The trial has been fixed for June and more evidence were hauled to the United Kingdom at the weekend.Part of the evidence are the proceedings of a Federal High Court in respect of the order of final forfeiture of $153 million allegedly traced to the ex-minister.

It was also learnt that one of the suspects had been found at a hideout in london and placed under surveillance.

Donald Trump has accused former president Barack Obama of being responsible for the demonstrations that have been going on across the country since the start of his presidency.

He made this accusation during an interview with Fox which will air on Tuesday morning. Though he had no evidence with which to defend his claims, Trump went further to suggest that Obama and his people were also behind the leaks of classified information from the White House to the press.



In a portion of the interview which was released on Monday night, Trump was asked by a Fox interviewer if he believed Obama was involved in the recent protests and he answered with conviction;
"You never know what's exactly happening behind the scenes. You know, you're probably right or possibly right, but you never know. No, I think that President Obama is behind it because his people are certainly behind it. And some of the leaks possibly come from that group, which are really serious because they are very bad in terms of national security. But I also understand that is politics. In terms of him being behind things, that's politics. And it will probably continue."
Republicans and rightwing media outlets have accused Obama of directing the demonstrations through a progressive group called Organizing for Action, OFA, which grew out of Obama's presidential campaigns. They also believe that Obama might be responsible because last month he had spoken out against Trump's travel ban.

19-year-old Elsa Iradukunda was on Saturday, February 25, 2017, named the Miss Rwanda 2017 in a tight competition from 15 finalists.

Iradukunda, a senior-six graduate from King David High School, who represented the Northern Province in the preliminaries, emerged the topmost contender for the beauty pageant which held at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village.
She defeated Guelda Shimwa, who came as the first runner-up, followed by Linda Umutoniwase and was crowned by Miss Rwanda 2016, Jolly Mutesiat.
For the first time in the history of Miss Rwanda pageant, all the 15 finalists were given full scholarships by the organizers to pursue undergraduate degrees at Mahatma Ghandhi University.

ISIS have now moved on from strapping children with suicide belts to strapping animals and sending them into the midst of people to get exploded.

This new tactic was uncovered by Iraqi rebel groups involved in the fight against ISIS after they discovered a puppy with the weapon strapped to it and helped to diffuse the bomb thereby freeing the animal.
The plan had been for the dog to cross to the rival forces where it will then be detonated with a remote device, but the rebel group was able to foil the plan and shared a video online. The explosive was made from several bottles connected by some electrical wires, designed to kill or injure up to four people.

Anambra state governor, Chief Willie Obiano has visited the fire disaster scene in Onitsha where he promised to assist all effected victims.

The Governor who disclosed this when he inspected the scene of the incident at Dennis Memorial Grammar School(DMGS)Junction, Onitsha, on Thursday also announced that an investigative panel would be set up to look into the matter and advise government on the next step to take on how to forestall a future reoccurrence.

Gov Obiano had to forfeit the Governor's Forum Meeting he was billed to attend in Abuja, took an emergency flight to be able to arrive the State to see first hand, the extent of damage done by the inferno and condole with the affected families.

On arrival, the governor was received by a joint team of Security and Emergency Management Operatives, State Government Officials and residents of the area who conducted him round the scene.

Speaking after the inspection, he lamented the huge losses to the inferno, but thanked God that no life was lost in the sad event. He commended men of the State Fire Service for their efforts to put off the fire and the Delta State Government for promptly assisting the state to battle the fire.

According to him, the Delta Fire Service support became necessary to enable the State's Fire Service tackle the fire challenges which came up same night at Okpuno, Unizik, Nimo and Nnewi.

He said the state government will immediately commence clearing the debris, adding that the State Government through its Ministry of Lands, will liaise with the owners of Gas Stations in the area to relocate to alternative locations where there are less residential houses.

He further announced ban on bush burning which he identified as a major cause of fire incidents across the state especially during the harmattan period.

He also directed the State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps to intensify checks on heavy duty trucks carrying petroleum products and building materials to ensure that they are in good shape before hitting the roads.

The governor commended the joint team of Security Operatives whose vigilance during the incident helped checkmate the attempted looting of Banks in the area, appealed to the citizenry to always stay away from fire scenes especially if they do not have anything to do with putting out the fire.

One of the victims, a widow whose house was razed, Mrs Joana Oboli cried that every of her life savings had gone into completing the structure and appealed to government and well meaning Ndi Anambra to assist them.

About 16 shops, 10 residential buildings, 15 cars and 3 commercial tricycles as well as other valuables worth hundreds of millions of naira were destroyed by the inferno.

Gov Willie Obiano has inaugurated the completed first phase of Lynden Farms at Igbariam, Anambra East Council Area of Anambra state.

The Farm which is to produce high quality eggs and poultry meat, the groundbreaking ceremony of which was performed by the Governor about one year ago was to be executed in three phases with a total investment put at 180 million dollars.

The completed phase has a double-deck facility housing 100,000 chicks with automated feeding and waste disposal processes, and is expected to produce 2,500 crates of egg per day.

The governor noted with joy that in less than two years his administration has surpassed the poultry needs of Ndi Anambra through its strategic partnerships with the private sector and efforts at supporting existing poultry operators in the State.He pointed out that the beauty of the project is that the entire maize to be used in producing the feeds for the chicks would be produced in the State adding that the development opens a new vista of opportunity for maize farmers who he said his administration will support to boost production.

The governor commended the investor for heeding his administration's clarion call to bring his wealth home and called on other wealthy Ndi Anambra to invest in the State, assuring them of a conducive investment climate in the State.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) and traditional ruler of Umuoji, Igwe Cyril Enweze said of all the 9 ongoing Agric projects embarked on by the present administration, the farm is the largest and is the first of such to be completed and put to use in the entire SouthEast region and hailed the public private partnership (PPP)model of the Gov Obiano administration through which he's placing the state on the nation's agriculture map.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Mechanization, Processing and Export, Mr Afam Mbanefo noted that at full capacity, the farm would be producing 22,500 Crates of egg daily with other benefits. He said the achievement of the first phase of the project marks a major milestone in the efforts of the state administration to make Anambra a pace-setter in agricultural development and food security.

The Chairman of Lyden Farms, Chief Clems Nwogbo revealed that aside the two layer houses that they will construct in the next two phases, they were also doing feedmill, broiler production houses and establishing outgrower schemes for the production of egg and broilers in the 21 Council areas of the state and commended Governor Obiano for his passion at attracting sustainable development which he noted, had motivated them to put their money down in the state.

The traditional ruler of Umuenwelu Anam, Igwe Michael Obadile-Okoye and the Coordinator, Willie Obiano Support Group, Chief Jude Emechetta in their respective remarks noted that what the state was witnessing in the agriculture sector was clear vision and said the coordination which has been entrenched across the sectoral value chain will ensure that no agric product is wasted.

Ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox (MMM) is at again, announcing it will freeze some Mavros of its participants.

It said it has also introduced new measures to ‘serve them better’.

The information was forwarded on Wednesday to members of the ponzi scheme.

MMM said it planned to launch the new rules which will “stop the growth of confirmed Mavros acquired before the 1st of January 2017’’.

It will also freeze the bonuses received before the 1st of January 2017 so that limited withdrawal of Mavro-2016 will include only contributions, not bonuses.

The message is posted on the Personal Office (PO), the site’s environment displayed for every member to participate in its activities.

Mavros are virtual money-equivalent access to cashing returns on funds invested in the scheme.

“You constantly reproach us stating we don’t listen to your opinions however we really do. We try to carry out the most reasonable and efficient suggestions immediately,’’ the statement said.

Particularly, in accordance with your suggestions, we will soon take the following measures:

We will stop the growth of confirmed Mavros acquired before the 1st of January 2017.

We will freeze the bonuses received before the 1st of January 2017 (so that limited withdrawal of Mavro-2016 will include only contributions, not bonuses).

We will introduce a new rule according to which the withdrawal amount cannot exceed triple amount of the provided help (so, GH cannot exceed PH more than in 3 times).”

The more than three million Nigerians, who invested in the scheme with the hope of getting 30 per cent in return were thrown into distress since MMM folded up.

Mr. Chuddy Ugorji, the initiator of the Nigerian faction of MMM has fled the country with his wife, Amaka.

Unconfirmed report says the MMM Number one Guider has absconded and relocated to Philippines.

He fled the country when many investors were waiting anxiously to be paid back their money with the agreed interest.

Chuddy’s relocation came barely 24 hours after he released condition for the payment of some three million Nigerian investors.

He had given the impression that the Ponzi scheme has started paying outstanding mavro (money) to Mavrodians, the participants of the scheme. But the payment is just symbolic.

Participants of the Mavrodi Mondial Movement (MMM) Ponzi scheme awaiting new updates on their investments would just have to take to fate.

The Nigerian government had constantly warned citizens about the scheme

The MMM has released a statement titled: ‘МММ Nigeria is coming back to normal’, asking the participants to forget their investments for 2016 and commence a new investment.





This means that the jubilation that greeted the reopening of the scheme in January 2017 may have been cut short.



“Dear members, MMM Nigeria lifts all the limits for Mavro acquired in 2017. So, MMM Nigeria is coming back to normal.

“And now the members can actively develop the community and create new requests to provide help. For these requests, orders will soon arrive, and after Mavro’s confirmation, it will be possible to withdraw these Mavro without any restrictions or limits!

“Only Mavros acquired in 2016 remain under restriction. But we are actively working on new measures to make it possible for the members to withdraw Mavro-2016 in a larger amount without undermining the sustainability of the community,” MMM said in the statement.




Many students who invested their money in the scheme as well as those who borrowed money in the hope of making 30 percent profit are now stranded.

Report also lists new Ponzi schemes that emerged following the partial crash of MMM in Nigeria to include Twinka, AlwaysPays, Naira propeller, Donation- Hub, GetHelpWorldwide, GiversCircle and Claritta. Not left out are 247Helpers, PledgeCycle and Loopersclub.

One Harrison Okojie, has been reportedly quoted as saying: “Make I tell you, na my mind I take dey carry this MMM matter. If I think about it, it will do me lot of damage.

“I can bear the loss of my money but my headache is the lady I borrowed N100, 000 from; the amount belongs to her sister.

“This is my major headache now. If I can get something out of the scheme, I will use it to buy time from her first.”




The reports also quoted the managing director of a private sector investment, Kenkenson Oil & Gas Limited, and treasurer of the Apapa, Lagos NUPENG, Mr Clifford Onyechachi, as saying his N1.8 million was trapped in MMM and about N2.3 million in three other schemes.



“Honestly, all my money is trapped in MMM and other schemes. It’s my money but it has affected my business badly because what I have is limited to my transactions.

"I still do small ones, trying to see how much I can get back. I invested N800, 000 for my wife and N1million for myself in MMM. I have over N2.3million in three other schemes. Those ones are on recession too,” he said.
