NNEWI - The All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, has been described as the hope for sustainable development in Anambra state.
The wife of the state governor, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, stated this during her visit to Nnewi south local government area of the state.
In her remarks, Chief Mrs Obiano, represented by the wife of the state deputy governor, Mrs Oby Nkem Okeke, while commending the massive turn out of the people on the event, intimated them with the present administration's plans in transforming the state, and called on them to give their total Support to APGA, especially in the forthcoming gubernatorial election for it to actualize its vision and mission for the good of the state residents.
Some top government officials who are indigenes of the area, member representing Nnewi south constituency in the state house of Assembly, Honourable Kingsley Uruba, a former state commissioner for information, Chief Majer Umeh, the transition committee chairman of Nnewi south, Honourable Felix Odumegwu, Senior Special Assistants to the governor on women mobilization and environment, Mrs Ngozi Ubah, Special duties, Mrs Amaka Ezeike, among others, while appreciating governor Obiano for his strides oninfrastructural developments, youths empowerment, as well as appointments given to the people of the area assured APGA the massive vote of the people of the Local Government Area.
The women leaders of the communities visited, Mrs Ifunanya Anusionwu, Cecilia Egudike, Tina Ezeokoli, and Lady Felicia Esotu thanked the governor's wife for the visit and prayed for God's blessings on her.
Some of the beneficiaries of the gifts item distributed by Chief Mrs Obiano during the visit, Mrs Nonye Okoli, and Cecilia Obi, commended the motherly care and selfless service of her Excellency to the less privileged in the state, praying God to reward her abundantly.
Also speaking, some community leaders, Honourable Ben Ezeilo, Comrade Humfrey Obiegbunam, Comrade Chuka Sunnyside, and Sir Jude Ulasi, thanked God for giving the state someone like governor Obiano, who they described as an exceptional leader with vision.
The towns visited include Unubi, Amichi, Azigbo, Ekwulummili, and Utuh, all in Nnewi south council area of the state.
