The governor who revealed this during a Mega Rally organized by the people of Awka South Council Area to show support for his administration, revealed that the Conference center which would be completed by end of 2017 with the full complements of a World-class facility, would be used for both international events with the capacity to boost the state's IGR, create economic activities that would generate jobs and wealth for the people as well as improve the aesthetics of the capital city territory.
The rally turned into a celebration of outstanding performance, with people trooping in great numbers to express their support and solidarity. The rally attracted ward representatives and stakeholders, political stalwarts, traditional rulers, government office holders and religious leaders in the council area. It was also used to endorse the governor for a second term in office.In his address, the Governor said his government has shown the Awka Capital Territory much attention especially through the visible infrastructural development projects which has changed the outlook of the capital territory.
He noted that his administration has resolved the power challenges facing inhabitants of the Capital City and thanked them for the endorsement, assuring he will continue to do more for them as the state's resources improve.
The National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Ike Oye acknowledged that through a well thought out development plan of the administration, Awka is gradually becoming a mega city and said the people are happy with him, hence the endorsement.
They used the opportunity of the endorsement for a second term to organize a reception for those who decamped to APGA from other political parties.
