Galant Fire Fighters Salvage Account for What Was Left Of The Fire Outbreak In Onitsha Filling Station

A fire outbreak occurred at Mobil Petrol Station at DMGS roundabout, Onitsha, Anambra State on Wednesday night.

The fire is said to have been caused by a petrol tanker loaded with fuel. According to source, the fire badly damaged a two-storey building near the filling station and surrounding buildings.


Men of the Anambra Fire Service were on ground as soon as possible and gave a very good account of themselves.

Below is an account from one of the firemen shortly after containing the fire outbreak

Fireman Agbili Martin Agility wrote...

"I can't wait to meet my lovely family.
This is 02:13am and we are just on our way coming back to Awka from the fire disaster at Onitsha.

"Let me quickly thank the masses who did their best during the fire outbreak.

"Let me also thank the firefighters from Okpoko Fire Station, Main Market Fire Station and those of us from Awka.

"I will never forget to appreciate our fellow firefighters from Asaba Fire Station of Delta State Fire Service. Firefighters brotherhood.

"Thank you my friends for all your prayers.

"Finally, I thank God for the strenght He installed in us and all his protection during all fire fighting.

"I can remember that we fought fire in four (4) different places at Awka before moving to Onitsha to assist those at Onitsha. God, you are always my strength.
"Fire kills but you can prevent it."
