Enugwu-Ukwu Anglican Community has celebrated one hundred and four years of the advent of Anglicanism in the Community.
Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke who attended the commemoration ceremony says his administration will continue to partner the Church.

Anglicanism in Enugwu-Ukwu started in nineteen thirteen and clocked one hundred years in year two thousand and thirteen.
Adorned in colourful centenary clothes and uniforms, the high and low members of the community and beyond, including the member representing Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia federal Constituency, Chief Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo, among others, attended the service which was presided over by the Anglican Bishop of Awka, Right Rev. Alexander Ibezim.Deputy Governor Okeke who expressed optimism that religious dichotomy would not set into the State, stressed that Enugwu-ukwu Community is blessed with men of timber and calibre who formed a united front to help project the Community, pointing out that alot of good tidings has come to the Community, including his being called to come and Deputise for Governor Willie Obiano.
Dr Okeke further noted that the present administration has tried to keep the State in the limelight in the Country, through many proactive measures, including the ongoing construction of the Enugwu-ukwu to Express bye-pass road, saying that it will soon be completed.
He said that State government will soon start refurbishing the Enugwu-ukwu General Hospital, adding that the twenty million naira Communty choose your Project initiative has gone a long way at the Enugwu-ukwu Civic Center, calling for more support to consolidate his vision for the State.
Bishop Ibezim described the Community as a strong Anglican Community, expressing happiness that they were able to put the ceremony together, adding that the Community has remained supportive of their seven years of episcopacy.
While enumerating some ongoing and completed projects in the diocese, Bishop Ibezim urged for the support of members within and in the diaspora, to come back and invest to develop their hometown, in line with Governor Obiano's aku luo uno call.
Earlier in a Sermon, the retired Bishop of Ihiala, Right Reverend Raphael Okafor, admonished the church to continue in what they've learnt and believe in, cautioning against being in conformity with unbelievers.
While regretting that alot of similarities exist between the world and the Church of today, Bishop Okafor reminded Christians that God has placed a seal of ownership on them, as such depend on God's word as the only reference point for living.
Award presentations to deserving indigenes of Enugwu-Ukwu Community, Special prayer for the State and the Community, Unveiling of a book on the advent of Anglicanism in Enugwu-ukwu, cutting of cake, and Special chior song on the history of Anglicanism in Enugwu-Ukwu were high points on the event.
